Halloween Costume Contest Details and Rules

The CORE Halloween 2024 Costume Contest

Open to all humans, no matter what age you are or where you live (as a reminder... pets are not human)
Come dressed as your favorite Super Hero, Villain, Monster, Creation, or Character!
There will be 3 different categories: Age 15 & Under, Age 16-up and Groups. Prizes will be awarded.
This is an all ages costume contest. Keep it fun, and PG-rated. The CORE reserves the right not to allow participants in costumes we deem inappropriate or in bad taste.
Team Members of The CORE (or members of their immediate family) are not eligible for the Costume Contest.
If you won a prize in previous years, you must choose a new costume. Wearing the same costume is not allowed. And yes, we do keep track from year to year.
Very Important Weapons Policy! Nothing that looks even remotely real. Must be plastic, foam or cardboard. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE!

All entrants will have their name & character announced.
You will need to remain throughout the Contest to be eligible for an award.
After all costumes have been exhibited and scores tallied, prizes will be announced.
$500 in gift certificate prizes will be awarded courtesy of The CORE

The judges shall have the sole authority and discretion to select the winners.
All Halloween Costume Contest participants agree to let The CORE use their images for promotional purposes, both photographs and video.
Each entrant shall indemnify, defend, and hold The CORE harmless from any third party claims arising from or relating to that entrant’s participation in the contest. In no event shall The CORE or any volunteers on site be liable to an entrant for acts or omissions arising out of or related to the contest or that entrant’s participation in the contest.

Hint # 1 The Judges are fans of Comic Book Characters, Scary Monsters and everything in between.
Hint # 2 CREATIVITY! Creativity! Creativity! The judges are partial to home-made costumes. They LOVE creativity in costumes and make-up.
Hint # 3 It’s ACTING! Don’t be shy! Let your Talent SHINE in the portrayal of your character while you are on stage! Impress those judges! Make them BELIEVE you ARE your character.
Hint # 4 Feel free to show up early and make yourself available for photo-ops with your adoring public!
